Backing and Batting Remember quilt batting and backing must be 6" larger all the way around than the quilt top itself to insure good quilting. We have a new line of backing fabrics, 100% cotton, very soft to the touch, $13.95 per yard. 110" wide, here are the color choices:
We now have in stock a new selection of wide quilt backing fabrics, 108" wide, 100% cotton, blended solids. The price for these backings will be only $8.50 per yard! Here are the color selections:
Batting: "Warm & Natural" quilt batting comes 90" wide and is .30 per inch (120" is .40 cents per inch) this is a very warm, quality cotton type quilt batting, used by many longtime quilters. It lends itself to a firmer feel, heavier and is good to be used for wall hanging applications or where a very warm quilt is needed. "Dream Cotton Select" quilt batting comes 90" wide .30 per inch (120" is .40) , this has a very nice draping quality and a thinner feel than some battings. "Dream Cotton Request" is the thinnest of battings we carry. It is nice for hand quilting or where a very lightweight quilt is needed. It is .30 cents per inch for 90" and .40 cents per inch for 120". "Poly Batting" poly quilt batting comes 90" wide, .20 per inch (shortest length of quilt) (also available in 120" .30 cents per inch), poly batting has a slightly higher loft, it works well for quilts that will be washed, as it does not shrink although it doesn't have the "feel" of a cotton quilt.. "Hobbs 80/20" cotton/poly blend batting, a bit more loft, used by many long time quilters for dimension in the quilting, 90" wide on the roll is .30 cents per inch, 120" is .40 per inch. Backing: Fabric comes 90" wide in either unbleached or bleached muslin. The cost of this is $8.50 per yard. Colored backing and binding fabrics come 45" wide and are available in standard colors.
